Fujimarca MC-711

Postby rdrunner » Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:09 pm

I was at a party over the memorial day weekend and one of the guests brought the Fujimarca MC-711 to make shaved ice for the kids and other guests. I was totally facinated by the machine and it's ease of use as well as the perfect shaved ice it created. I am now looking at purchasing this shaver and wondered what kind of maintenance is involved. Most likely it wouldn't be subject to heavy use. The kids might make shaved ice for family, neighborhood friends or other church or work related parties and that would be about it. If it were to be subject to slightly heavier use like a larger party or fundraiser, could this machine do the job? The gentleman at the party who owned the machine hadn't done any maintenace since he owned it and it still worked perfectly. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I was wanting to use this same machine for my business... so I'm guessing it would hold up to business level use if it has held up for 20 years. :)
I have read that the quality of the snow is not as fine with the manuals though... could Jayne or anyone else who has a Fujimarca MC-711 manual speak to this? It was my main concern in purchasing one.

i use my fujimarca in my sno shack (yes i need a new one soon) in utah there are sno shack's on every corner. This is my 2nd year open i don't even have that great of a location. Last night i had lines for 2-3 hours. My customers tell me they will wait because of the machine i use. The sno is awesome but you need to make sure it is tempered correctly.

I am glad that machine works great for you! I bought one last Christmas and used it for small gatherings. It's the best thing you can get that will last you like literally forever if you take care of it. I spent 15-30 bucks on those from Walmart, but they just don't cut it. Looks nice though. I still prefer the old fashion looking shave ice machine, makes it look more authentic :D

Is Jaynegirl2 using the hand crank MC-711 or another Fujimarca? We have a farmers market out here that I would rather not use a generator for and wondered if that hand crank model, (though inexpensive) was adequate for commercial use.

fujimarca machines are wonderful...spend the money and you won't be disappointed. I once made 6,ooo shave ice in 2 days using 3 machine....it was a good business day! 6 hours solid!

Yes, Windwardsnow, that is correct! It's easily repairable and maintained compared to the other block shavers that uses gear type of pressume assemblies.
