Re: Favor Station DIY?

Just finished the year and it was my first using a Snowie flavor station 8. I had a few problems with it. People kept trying to pick up the bottles, which would the pull thru the rubber on the bottom. And they also got warm in the sun, and were hard to keep clean. Some of the changes I'd make to the...

Re: New to the business

One of the things to watch for with other card services is sometimes they have a monthly minimum. And each card you take would have a minimum. So if only one of them did not make the minimum you would get charged extra for it. Square does not do this, the nice thing is at the end of the season, you ...

Re: New to the business

There are lots of solutions to cards, but most run thru the bluetooth.
I know bluetooth is suppose to be fast but from what I've seen it seems to take more time that square, which is plugged into the headphone socket.

Yes square can run on a tablet. I'm thinking of buying the unit to take debit cards
We have a lot of kids and they don't carry cash and don't have credit cards.
But even really young kids carry debit cards

Re: New to the business

The Snowie bike looks good, I tested it when I was there. It pedals easy It is designed to have the shaved ice premade in cups, so all you have to do is pour the syrup on If you have to pedal around a shaved ice machine and power it could be a lot of weight. Add to that the ice required. Here is the...

Re: Advice please

I looked at buying one of these trucks myself but rejected the idea because of its height I currently have a trailer and even that is not like having the tent The tent always seemed more personal. Customers on the same level. With the trailer I'm always looking down at them, and it does not seem as ...

Re: Ice cream

I sell Gelato, and it outsells the shaved ice by quite a bit. the problem is that it is a lot more cost. Around 30 to 35% cost I was thinking about doing chocolate dipped ice cream. Just buy the vanilla bars on a stick, and have heated chocolate to dip it into. Also have some nuts and sprinkles to p...

Re: Some shave ice toppings that you can offer

I like the idea of added toppings. I just have one question. I am about to start using a flavor station. And I want to charge extra for the toppings. How do I serve the ice. Let them put their own syrup on, and then have them come back for snow cap? Or maybe I should just shelve the idea of toppings

Re: Real story on Kona Ice?

Craig, my wife and I will be at the Summit as well. I went to one a couple years ago and it was well worth the trip. They do have some great items to show. I bought a Satellite Cart that I was going to use for something but now am looking at placing it up on a busy college campus and letting one of...

Re: Real story on Kona Ice?

DesertCone, is the Snowie truck a franchise? I am not too aware of Snowie's business model. Are they a franchise like Kona, Tropical Sno, etc. I know a lot of people who call their store's Snowie as well, Im always assumed they do franchising along with business to business sales. Care to share you...
