Re: Will a swan or hatsuyuki block shaver suction down to the inside of my trailer?

We just mounted our swan using the method outlined in this thread. Never once has the machine came loose or fell over while traveling.

Re: Favor Station DIY?

Very true it is more time consuming, but my business doesn't rely on events only. I have two locations and were open every single day. I found that to get repeat customers its best that I make the product and it comes out perfect every time. The pour stations are cool, but i see to many kids not kno...

Re: Block Ice for Block Shavers

Hey Maximus, I currently use the swan shavers and absolutely love them, easy to use and give the softest fluffiest shave ice you can get in my opinion. The first year we used food grade 1 gallon buckets: http://www.thecarycompany.com/open-head-plastic-pail-56w01w?utm_source=google_shopping&m=sim...

Re: Leaving syrup in my truck over night

I leave my syrups in the trailer. I have a permanent spot, but i also keep the AC cranked on 24/7 so it never goes above 75 degrees inside the trailer.

Sounds cool! I agree with IceMan though, I prefer to poor the flavors myself for the customer.

Re: Results of Taste Testing

Great Idea! We may have to do something similar. We only used HTK last year and this year we used southern. I prefer HTK's flavors while my business partner prefers southern. We will have to hold a private tasting event before we start next year. :D

Re: Cones or Bowls

Styrofoam squat cups all the way! We dabbled with the flower cups for a bit...but we just didn't like the expense they were and how they were not very car friendly.

Re: Ice Blocks

This machine does require a 220v outlet. As far as electric i am not totally sure. I have this ice machine, three Ice Merchandisers, and 4 chest freezers and my electric bill is about 65 a month. The unit does kick off some heat. Currently I am just in a 20x20 mini warehouse and normal temp is aroun...

Re: Private party

Like mrjosco stated there is really no way to know. Call the town hall the city is in and ask if there are any special permits. Usually, at least in my area no permit is need for private events as long as its hosted on private property.
