Swan Cube Ice Shaver VS. Hatsuyuki Cube Ice Shaver

Postby Kianakai » Sun Aug 08, 2010 7:08 am

Which cube ice shaver is better? Swans FM-800E or Hatsuyuki HC-8E?

Still debating on whether I should get a block or cube ice shaver. Cube ice shaver is convenient and easier but I also don't want to sacrifice the quality of snow. Is the ice texture of cube ice shavers even close to the block shavers?

I bought a Snowie 3000 last week and I was soooooo dissapointed! I returned it the following day. Now, I am currently shopping for a great ice shaver. Any suggestions? I will be using it as a side business on the weekends catering to private parties, fundraising and special events.

Thanks You.

Hello!

I would prefer the HC-8E , it's cheaper, and the quality that comes out of it is comparable to the Swan. In terms of cube shavers, you cannot get too far ahead of a block shaver in the end in terms of quality. Here is the best part to an HC-8E..http://www.shaveicesupplies.com sells a super handy add-on to that machine which is called a "hopper" a plexi-glass unit that fits directly on top of the machine that is custom made for it. It's purpose is like a belt-feed machine gun. It can take a heavy load of ice cubes nearly 3 times it's stock chute without reloading more ice cubes. Awesome stuff!

Good luck in choosing your cube shaver! Always here to help out! = )
