Hey Everyone,
Seeing as I started the 2017 is a wrap thread I thought i would get the 2018 version started! We are closing it down for the season after this weekend and wanted to start the conversation of what worked well for you guys this year? What didn't work? And, Plans for next season?
This year was drastically different for us then last year, we bought a brand new trailer, commercial grade Ice Machine, even have our own shop to meet health compliance's and make all of our stuff in our own space and not a rented out service base.
We made about 4 times we did last year and business is exceeding all of our expectations. We just purchased a used Mercedes Benz 3500 Sprinter Van and will be tackling as many events as possible. We are also purchasing another trailer for another location next season. The jump into the shave Ice Biz has been incredible and I am hoping others are having great success!

Ice Clouds, congratz on the success! Your success means our products are doing it's job, and that makes us happy!
For us here, we did pretty well. Introduction of new flavors and new cups helped our company promote new ideas to the industry. We also increased our social media presence. Back then, we didn't rely on social media as much, but these days with everyone online, we really had to keep up with social media. Not something we enjoy doing all the time, but exposure is exposure. What didn't work for us we found out is carrying so much flavors, sometimes flavors are seasonal or trendy and we end up over stocking only to find out it fell out of favor. We also tried to maintain cordial relationships with other vendors (unless they copy us ).
