S100 replacing worm gears

Any tip on how to remove the worm gears, I've looked at It but don't know how to approach it.

I can replace them but not well because they don't last. You have to remove the main shaft which is a little tricky. I got a 1x4 and used two small clamps to attach it to the ice block holder making a fulcrum. Fold a paper shop towel thickly and wrap around main shaft handle and clamp it with a visegrip. This way you can unscrew the ice block holder from the main shaft
