Private party

Postby Ruff84 » Sun Jul 29, 2018 3:24 am

How do private parties and permits work? I got asked to do a assisted living facility with 50 people (including staff)

Do i need a temporary permit like I do for an event or fair? It won’t be open to the public.

There is no way to know. Every city is different. Call your local city office and talk to their health department. They will tell you everything you need to know.

Like mrjosco stated there is really no way to know. Call the town hall the city is in and ask if there are any special permits. Usually, at least in my area no permit is need for private events as long as its hosted on private property.

I was thinking the same thing, catering for friends of a friend and charging, since it's between friends, and private party, I think you can do without permits.

How did it go Ruff84? It's always good to get confirmation from your local health department. If you have an inspector assigned to your business, it's good to build a rapport with them. Makes for less stress come inspection time :D
