I'm looking for a quality machine that will produce Taiwanese snow ice (the ice block is flavored and when shaved looks like folds of ribbon). I'm partial to the manual Fujimarca MC-711, but the videos I found only seem to use normal ice to make snow, not ribbons. Hoping to learn of a manual machine that will work, but if not, then an NSF one. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for the reply, I didn't even know there was a machine to shave single servings of this type of ice! That would be very convenient. Do you have to temper the blocks at all, or just take them straight from the freezer? Do you have a picture of the final product? Thanks so much!
Just take it straight out of the freezer and shave it. You do sometimes have to soak it in water for 10 seconds so the puck will release from the cup but that's about it. Super simple and we get a lot of great reactions.
