Shave ice may seem easy and simple from the outside, but there is actually much more to it than meets the eye! Shave ice is a small niched industry and we have no secrets to hide on how to build a shave ice business. I am new to this site. I live in Boston and will be purchasing a shave ice machine this week. I've been planning this for a few years as a supplement to my income. I wanted to do something fun , meet people that my son could participate in - rather than leave him more than I already do.

I am very excited to practice and do some fairs and parties prior to next spring/summer.
Any advise for a newbie would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a slogan and advise on how best
to set up as I do not have the finances to purchase a trailer or kiosk at this time.
Can anyone share any ideas for strating out- that are budget concious - like what kind of set up works?
I do have a Mass peddlers liscense.

You could buy a tent, get a table to put the machine on, another table to put your flavors on. I made a wood 3 tier flavor rack ,shaped like a wedding cake and put it on that table, line your flavor bottles around the rack. you can buy the tables at sams club. You will need a freezer to put your ice in, or y0u can use coolers to keep the ice in. The ice has to be cured which means it has to thaw out a little bit, glazed looking, but not mushy or you will get slush instead of nice fluffy snow . I put mine out in the sun for maybe 10 to 15 mintes , it depends how hot it is. you will know by trial and error, but do it before your first show. I use to keep my flavors in a fridge , but I dont any more, I just pack the snow alttle bit, but not to tight...tino

What's up ? I live in vegas and starting to turn my shasta trailer into a retro shave ice trailer .it's been hard work getting it planed out and basically building it from the ground up to get a health permit. If u want to see it I posted the trailer and will update the posts every time I get something done.
