Does anyone know how I can find out if I need an NSF approved machine in Georgia? I am kind of partial to the Fujimarca models so I'm hoping I do not have to worry about it.

Coleman Concessions in Atlanta and Macon sell the Hawaiians Finest machine that is NSF certified. We just received our Hatsuyuki HC-8E from 1-800-SHAVEDICE and it is also NSF certified. We mainly do festivals and vary rarely do we have any health inspectors.

Thanks for the info Jody. Did you find that NSF certified machines were required in order to do business? I am curious because the one that is ideal for what I want to do is a Fujimarca and to my knowledge they are not NSF certified.

Since we mainly do events and festivals being NSF certified was not that important to us. So far we have never been inspected at the events we do. There are some that require health department approval but even then they are looking more at your setup then NSF certified equipment. If you are going to do a stationary business then it might be different. We have a small snack bar at an antique auction house that we want to turn into a commercial kitchen and the local health department was all over NSF equipment. So really it depends on what you want to do.
