We purchased our machine /business from a retiring couple this year they used the machine for several years before selling it to us.. I'm not sure what if any maintance they preformed on it if any. lately I've noticed the shaving adjusting knob is getting extremly hard to turn. Is this an accumliation of Rust or Lime scale or other problems, is there a fix for this..

Yes, this is a common problem for Swan machines. The knob would get jammed if not maintained regularly due to water seeping into the threads and causing rust and scale. Try applying a good coating of wd40 and leave for a day. If it doesn't budge, you would either have to take it to a machine shop or you would just have to break the knob and it's screw.

The best way to prevent the lock up is to remove the knob every know and then and apply lubrication onto the thread.
