What are your thoughts... I Have a Swan SI-100e Ice shaver and last year the motor burned out and I had to order another one. I have found and been using larger buckets then standard, 1 gallon size rated for ice cream, they are round 8 in. diameter and 6 in. hi. Is this to large of a block of ice for the motor to shave the ice if there is a large quantity? Thanks for the input.

Ross,
That ice block size you are using is too large for the shaver. As you may have noticed on the Swan Si100. There is virtually no vents, or the holes are so small. I wouldn't even consider it a vent. If you run the machine very hard during the Summer. It will over-heat especially under heavy load (big blocks of ice.) I've seen someone retrofit some small computer fans behind the Shave machine cover. It was a really great idea to vent out the heat.
I love Shave Ice, period. :D
