When to change the blades on ice shaver?
You would know when to change the blade when these symptoms show up. a.) It doesn't shave at all or shaves very little at a time even when your blade is raised to the max b.) The quality of the ice that is being shaved is a lot more coarse, you will notice this if you are constantly making shave ice daily.
However, you should check the tension on the shavers first. I have Fujimarcas so I can easily check them. Swans or Snowies, etc may have different methods of checking.
Most of the time, it's a dull blade. It may look sharp, but it won't shave the ice very finely. I keep at least 10 blades on hand throughout the summer season.

I love Shave Ice, period.
